NO MORE WHALE HUNTING!

Greenpeace is celebrating the wonderful outcome of all the campaigning of many organisations as well as their own:  the Japanese have agreed to cease hunting whales in the South Atlantic.

This is an ocean dear to my heart of course, having grown up on the island of Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic.  We used to hear the whales blowing from our house, and we could look out to sea from our verandah and see them.  It was amazing.

Congratulations to Greenpeace!  They’ve made this video to celebrate:

  1. Does anyone seriously believe that the Japanese will give up killing whales? Or the Chinese catching sharks, cutting off their fins then throwing them back? I don’t!
