‘God of the poor, friend of the weak,

give us compassion we pray.

melt our cold hearts, let tears fall like rain;

come, change our love from a spark to a flame.’

We sang this lovely song in church this morning.  I find it very moving and inspiring.  The whole thing is here under ‘Beauty for Brokenness’:

      1. I don’t know…. I rarely go to the Mass with singing at 10am as I go to the midday one and there are no hymns sung…:oops: I realise I am probably missing out… My experience of hymns at our church has been that there seem to be ones that sound like Irish jigs and reels but with the right sort of words 8| :)) and some fairly terrible dirgy ones…. but don’t tell anybody I told you that 😉

    1. Graham Kendrick is rather out of favour now with the younger generation … but I consider his hymns will stand the test of time! He is one of the few hymnwriters who actually have some theology in their songs 😉
