    1. No, it is of course much more complex. However, it’s interesting to me to receive a great many comments from teacher friends and family (I put it on Facebook too) agreeing with the sentiment.

      1. I would not have expect teachers etc., not to agree with the sentiment. However, it is the considerations that lead to the sentiments some of them have that would benefit from a range of assessment.

  4. The more stupid the child, the more aggressive the parent in defence of it. A sad state of affairs.

    1. It’s interesting that those who are involved with education on a daily level think there is a lot of truth in this.

    1. Too true – time the pendulum swung a little the other way, back towards empowering teachers to teach and to exercise appropriate discipline.
