WEY-HEY!!! TWO CHEERS …BUT WILL THE HOME OFFICE APPEAL AGAIN? PLEASE NOT!

Serena (our trafficked Burkina Faso lady with whom we went to court last week) has just been here. She can hardly speak, and she can’t eat, and she can’t sit still. She has just had a letter from the Home Office that ALLOWS her appeal on the grounds that both the Home Office and the judge made an ‘error of law’ … !!!!

However, the HO still has the right to appeal over the next 5-10 days … and the last time, they waited until the last minute and appealed.

So two cheers … the third cheer will happen if, in two weeks’ time, she has heard nothing further!

Meanwhile I have managed to get some funding to send her and Tila on holiday next week. They’ve never had a holiday and she is SO looking forward to it. Boy, does she need a break from all the anguish and stress and anxiety and worry about Tila and the feeling of threat and the inability to plan and the half-life you live when your whole future is uncertain … I hope it doesn’t rain!

Sometimes I find in my spirit that I can pray specifically, and this time I was praying that there would just be a letter from the Home Office granting her right to remain with no further procrastination. Half a prayer answered … and we’ll all be knocking on heaven’s door for the other half! We are so chuffed, and the church will be, too.

Thanks to so many blog friends for your support and positive thoughts and prayers. Keep it up … for two weeks anyway!

    1. thanks, Liz! Serena is so excited, she’s dancing around in church today – off they go tomorrow, and the forecast is for the rain to stop for a day or two! Even so, she doesn’t care – she says they will enjoy it anyway.

    1. It’s been raining here this morning but shows signs of clearing up … even if it does rain, there will be plenty to do and at least they will have a break.
